Originally collected as seeds by Mark Collins in Ecuador during the 90's. This seedling variation is named 'Maleko Red' after Mark Collins. 'Maleko' means Mark in Hawaiian. The strawberry red bracts along with the green and black margins makes 'Maleko Red' an interesting collectible and cut flower.
